Dame Judi, I will think of you Sunday night.

Since I am a movie nerd, I am super psyched about the Oscars. Queenie and I are partying it up Dame Judi style. Which, loosely translated means…we will not be attending the event in person, we will be in jammies, and we will be dining on South Beach friendly cuisine that is perfect for anyone. Even if you are…say recovering from knee surgery.

Menu:

London broil
These Potatoes are a Scandal
Prideful but not Prejudice Stuffed Mushroom Caps
Shakespeare in Love with Salad
Chocolat cream
Tea (no sugar) with Mussolini

My favorite is “These Potatoes are a Scandal”. I crack my self up. Let me explain so I can crack you up too… Potatoes are a big ol' NONO during Phase 1 of South Beach. To give you options, the brilliant dieticians came up with a substitute. Cauliflower. Yeah, you heard me… now go ahead and chuckle whilst marveling at my whit.

I (with the help of my little SB book) will be tricking Queenie into eating some cauliflower by adding some fat free half and half a little butter and whipping the crap out of it. I am sure that adding the catchy title to it will get her salivating as well!

Reminder of Stuff’s Oscar Picks:

Best movie: Little Miss Sunshine
Best Actor: Forest Whitaker
Best Actress: Helen Mirren
Best Supporting Actor: Eddie Murphy
Best Supporting Actress: Jennifer Hudson
Best Director: Martin Scorsese

I think it will be a swell show. Did I say swell? What the heck?

Change of subject and excuse to post a self indulgent photo…

We are about to get walloped with some bad ass snow. LOOK OUT! So, I plan to be in my apartment with a few movies and a cup of fat free, sugar free hot chocolate all weekend. I am seriously excited about it! We have not gotten any snow this year and I feel all out of whack. My body needs seasons. I need to play in the snow even if it is just to shovel the sidewalk at least once per winter. I need to feast my eyes on the trees heavy with white snow. I need to hear the crunch beneath my feet that makes me shiver. I need this snow.

See how cute I am in snow:

I don't think your clever title for the Cauliflower will make me think any different about them. I will try them for the benefit of this diet and my health, but I'm just sayin' that Cauliflower and me haven't gotten along in the past....

You can see my blog for my picks...soon to be posted...
